Simultaneously, head into the WO Mic smartphone application and click on the following: “settings cog” > “Transport” > “WiFi.” Head back into the main interface and click on the play button. Launch the WO Mic application on your PC and tap on “WiFi” in the left sidebar in the “Connect” window. Toggle these settings from the respective settings menus of both your PC and smartphone device. To connect the two devices through a WiFi connection, you will first need to ensure that WiFi is turned on on both devices and that both devices are connected to the same Wireless network. Note that the Bluetooth connection works for both Android and iOS devices. Select your smartphone from the drop down menu displayed and then click on “OK.” Head into the WO Mic smartphone application and click on the following: “settings cog” > “Transport” > “Bluetooth.” After doing this, you can head into the main application interface and tap on the play button to begin recording and using your phone as an external microphone on your PC. Launch the WO Mic application on your PC and tap on “Bluetooth” in the left side bar in the “Connect” window. Follow the on screen instructions on your devices to do this. Once both devices are discoverable, enter them into pair mode and select the other device to pair. This option can be toggled on Windows through its settings menu and on your smartphone through its respective settings interface as well. To connect your smartphone via Bluetooth, you will first need to turn on Bluetooth on both devices. Configuring A Wireless Bluetooth Connection In the “Connect” window, click on “USB” in the left side bar and then click “OK.” Launch the WO Mic smartphone application on your Android device and click on the following: “settings cog” > “Transport” > “USB.” After doing this, you can head into the main application interface and tap on the play button to begin recording and using your phone as an external microphone on your PC. By doing this, your PC will recognize your smartphone as an independent external hardware device (such as a microphone). Head into the developer options of your Android device.
If you regularly connect your smartphone to your PC, you may already have these drivers installed.
To perform the steps on an Android device, connect it to your PC using its USB cable and install any requisite drivers that your PC prompts you to install. Wired USB connection only applies to Android devices as Apple has locked USB communications for such applications on its lightning port. Next, click on “Connect.” This window will show you four connection options on the left side bar for USB, Bluetooth, WiFi, and WiFi direct configurations. Find the button for “Connection” and click on this. Once the installation has completed, find the application in your start menu and launch it.
Grant administrator privileges when running the installer to grant the application the privileges it needs to configure your audio stream and the WO Mic driver.
